Breanna enjoys the multi-faceted aspects of teaching 4th grade. Note: multifaceted is an FAA word I learned to sound like a flight instructor. Decorating the classroom with meaningful, yet stylish, designs is near the top of her happy list.
Here is a quick montage of how she chose to spend her Mother’s Day. It’s a mixed media display featuring the books the fourth grade have studied this year.
We all have finite moments to spend each day. She gives most of hers to children, either ours or her students. Every once in awhile she finds a few spare moments to become lost in her art. She doesn’t think she’s talented, and doesn’t believe it when I say how much she inspires me. But the kids and I all know the truth, and we’ll keep reminding her. 😉
P.S. This reminds me of a big prayer request we have – we’ll be returning to Kenya this July. This year has really shown us how well the kids thrive in the structure provided by a school, as well as how much Breanna enjoys teaching. However, Breanna has not been offered a teaching position at the missionary school in Nairobi. That means we may need to raise more support to cover tuition costs, and puts us currently at 76% of the monthly support we would need. Please pray with us for God’s provision, and our patience and faith to remain in Him. We will keep you updated over the next weeks.
Hi Jerry & Brianna!
Jim DeMott shared your picture book with us, and I want to thank you for all the effort to make it because it makes your ministry even more real to all of us at GBC and on the GBC Missions Council. We were delighted to get to know you better during our February Conference. I’m so blessed to hear of God’s answers to your prayer, and His amazing guidance in your work. We continue you to keep you and your family in our prayer!
I love watching you work, Brianna! I can see where your daughter gets her ‘artsy’ bent! I’m praying you will soon again teach in that Christian School. As a veteran of more than 30 years teaching in a Christian School, 38 years in all, I know how your heart goes out to each student as you strive to help each of them find the passion God has given them. What a privilege to teach precious children for our Lord!
