As a child, I remember Mom excitedly telling us stories from the book: “God’s Smuggler.” Load after illegal load of bibles reached eager men and women in Eastern Europe during the dominance of communism, sometimes supernaturally hidden in plain sight inside a humble VW car.
Knowing I had a boy’s bent towards cars, motorbikes, adventure and airplanes, she hoped that I could do something like Brother Andrew did in his book.
Unfortunately, Mom, I haven’t done that … But yesterday I DID get to fly another group of refugees to his bible school. I flew nine Sudanese that fled from the bombing in the Nuba mountains down for another semester at the bible school started by Brother Andrew’s organization. One of them sat in the copilot seat reading the Sudan prayer guide book, which had a chapter on AIM AIR! 🙂
So, no bible smuggling, but I think helping pastors-to-be get trained and ready to be smuggled back into their violently afflicted home land is still a good thing, right?
Right! And making God and all of us smile and feel thankful is right too!
Looking good Jerry!
