Joseph Christmas, my dudes!

So this is actually the SECOND time I have written a post the day after Christmas, the first time being waaaaaay back in 2014 (http://jerrybreanna.com/grace/2014/12/26/joseph-christmas/). And of course, I made the same joke. Funny how little has changed.

Anyway, we’re not here to talk about the past four years (how have I had this blog for four years), we’re here to talk about the past… four months? Not bad! (at least it wasn’t a year this time…)

Well, I somehow managed to finish online school, and survived the transition to brick-and-mortar school! Amazing! And, I gotta tell you, it’s good to be home. I really missed it.

That being said, it’s not quite back to the old routine. Obviously, there’s the whole going-to-school-now thing, which means people and homework and it’s very exhausting. At least I’ve made some friends! Good ones! And other things have changed, like the fact our cat apparently decided to just… leave, so… that’s somethin’. And Jinx’s ear got banged up but otherwise he’s okay. And I’ve even fallen back into an old obsession with a kid’s cartoon so nothing new there.

I haven’t been drawing quite as much lately, but I have been writing more, so I guess it all evens out. Writing fanfiction, granted, but I also did NaNoWriMo again! And… no pole again, but this time it was actually a book from a previous pole that at least one of you voted for anyway, so… that counts, right? Despite hitting my wordcount goal on time, however, I’m still writing the thing. It doesn’t help that I’ve gotten sidetracked by a completely different book idea. But… African Wild Dogs! Otters! Genetic experimentation! Sisterhood! How is one author to contain all this inspiration!?

I still haven’t updated the book pages, but I have put Not-Cool Yule up, just in time for… Boxing Day! Haha, I can do things in a timely fashion. Or an acceptably timely fashion. Ha.

Anywho, here’s the link for your convenience: http://jerrybreanna.com/grace/short-stories/not-cool-yule/

It’s a short story I wrote for my last English class, and it’s- *gasp* -Christmas themed! Amazing! So I hope somebody will find it enjoyable.

Anywho, WTYL!

hey you thought that recommendations bit at the end of the last post was just a one time thing? you were wrong. What can I say, I love me some links!

Music artist: NEEDTOBREATHE has a lot of really good music, with kind of a subtle Christian vibe (more or less subtle depending on the song). https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCGmtDrMebeJCq2jgvboJ7Jg

Song: Wolf by First Aid Kit is gorgeous! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Czj7SyPNRto

Artist artist: revioLATE has gorgeous and honestly kind of eerie art. https://www.deviantart.com/reviolate/

Art: Merry Christmas by Aw0 (is that an “oh” or a zero???). Just… just look at it. It’s adorable. https://www.deviantart.com/aw0/art/Merry-Christmas-778132820

Writer artist: Marissa Meyer writes some good stuff! I really liked her series The Lunar Chronicles as well as Renegades, and I can’t wait to read Archenemies! I also read Heartless recently and actually enjoyed it, and that’s coming from someone who hates romance so. Yeah. She good.

Book: The Last Unicorn by Peter S. Beagle is really beautiful and surprisingly funny and generally quite neat. Also it’s a classic and if you haven’t read it that’s a shame and must be rectified.
