Thanksgiving in Nairobi

Hello, super sight searchers! As you may know, a very well known holiday (or at least I think it’s well known) has recently passed: Thanksgiving! We, however, did not celebrate, for that would make my RVA schooling sister very sad (and possibly mad), since she likes this holiday and they don’t celebrate it at school. But this very night, we had a lovely meal of which I am very much giving thanks. Some neighbors of ours (for now, since we’re in Nairobi) (oh, did I mention WE’RE IN NAIROBI!?!) gave us a huge, probably not very healthy meal, which included chicken, pumpkin pie, apple pie, french fries, and cheesy things. Not to mention mashed potatoes and cranberry sauce and cool aid… Yum. It was just the right size–big enough and with enough variety to fill you, but not too much to make you feel horrible. And by the way–just the day before...

Migrating the Wrong Way

Dear brave internet wanderers, We’re going back again! It’s hard to believe it, but conference has come upon us and soon we will be migrating the wrong way–again. Even this very day, our good neighbors are preparing to leave. As for us, not much has changed. Raven, our lovely, affectionate kitten, has been causing problems–clawing our anti-bug screens to pieces, and then meowing her head off when we put her out. Not surprisingly, I woke up pretty early this morning. Jinx has been causing his fair share of problems, too–tearing my mosquito net, getting beds and couches dirty with his very visible hairs, and sometimes forgetting his house training, not to mention trying to play with a much smaller Raven. Titan has mostly just been wrestling with the younger dog. Our good neighbors have pets, too, and their pets have news–their two marvelous cats, Marcy...

Here Again, There Again

Hello again, surfers of the web! I mentioned in my last post that we were going to Nairobi (I think I did, anyway). Well, we DID go to Nairobi, ate some yummy stuff, and then we went to my sister’s school! We stayed there for two nights and a shower, not to mention that Olivia’s play was wonderful and the church service we went to was great! Then we stayed at the Guesthouse-Of-Great-Butter, and then flew back to Loki where I am now! While there were sorrows (I had lost two days’ work of my book! I caught up again, though), it was really fun. I especially enjoyed the coolness. Now, in a couple hundred days (in my perspective), we shall return for a conference and see Olivia again! And have Thanksgiving! Yay! And, of course, there will be Christmas after that, and then a book in my FAVORITE BOOK SERIES IN THE WORLD will come out! So, I am very excited. 😀 Well,...

Through the Door and Over the Frog

Hello, amazing blog people! As you may well know, it is now NOVEMBER! Which means NANOWRIMO! So I have started writing a book, called “Through the Door”. I’ll have to tell you more about that later. Also, I have been working on a zoo with my neighbor Renee, and it includes a tiger who is waiting for his revenge on us, escape artist wolves/werewolves, evil coyotes who have so far done nothing (SO FAR), and wild boars in the petting zoo. Okay, yes, it is in a video game, but it is still impressive, and we had to work together to make it. Also, it has an aquarium with piranhas and sting rays and sharks and sea bass. Enough about video games. The day before yesterday, I lost a tooth (but the tooth fairy forgot, twice). Tomorrow, someone is coming to check up on us and make sure we’re doing good in school, so I’ll have to try twice as hard. And next week,...
